OPEN INVITATIONS

“We need trickster approaches, we need ways of dancing away, or dancing to, fugitive spaces; dancing to sanctuaries where we can shape-shift. Grieving, mourning, even allowing ourselves to partake in pleasurable activities in the face of the storm.”

Emergent Facilitation for a Thriving World

May 28 - June 5, 2026

Hosts: Bridget Mullins, Melina Chan

Location: Harrisonburg, VA, USA

What does it take to bring people together when the challenges we face are complex, uncertain, and deeply interconnected?

Emergent Facilitation for a Thriving World is a 7-day intensive on designing and leading participatory processes for ecological and social change. Whether you're working in grassroots movements, civic institutions, or multi-stakeholder initiatives, this course will help you develop the skills to convene people across difference, create conditions for collective wisdom to emerge, and support groups in moving toward meaningful action.

It's hands-on and experiential. You'll practice with methods communities are using around the world, design processes for your own context, and leave with tools you can apply immediately.

The course runs through Eastern Mennonite University's Summer Peacebuilding Institute in June 2026. Visit the SPI website to learn more and apply.

The Adaptation Game (TAG)

Hosts: Bridget Mullins & TAG Co-facilitators

Collaborative immersion in location-specific scenarios that increase awareness of local climate risks and government programs

As a trained facilitator for The Adaptation Game, I offer a playful-serious workshop designed to simulate the next 10 years of climate change in your town. TAG helps participants grow knowledge, imagination, connection, and agency. Using global climate science and local experience, it empowers individuals and communities to act together.

TAG is particularly designed for use by local governments. If you’re interested in becoming one of the many councils using TAG, reach out. I will work with you to create specific climate risk scenarios, train your team as TAG facilitators, and ensure a smooth roll-out in your community.

  • I joined the series with a desire to understand the IDGs, as well as how they relate to my work at Turning Ground. Through masterfully guided group processes, curated content and Miro magic, Mel and Bridget offered a highly relevant and relational way of making personal contact with the IDGs. I'd highly recommend this to individuals and communities seeking to understand how the IDGs can be understood and integrated meaningfully.

Al Jeffery, Director, Turning Ground and Regenerative Minds

  • Thoroughly enjoyed how carefully crafted, well-designed, and safely held this IDG short course was. It reaffirmed my belief that we can't achieve the SDGs without embodying the IDGs. Ngā mihi nui & thank you!

  • Bridget and Mel’s facilitation is both beautifully crafted and deeply human. Their ability to hold space, actively listen, and weave participant experiences into the content was excellent.
